Philly 2019: At home in America
I began to write this on the eve of the US elections, and it is... unsettling to know that three days after, right now there are people dressed as dancing mail boxes on the streets of Philly.

New York 2019: Mum and me
When you have three other siblings, quality time with your remaining parent is something of a hard-fought commodity, and the older we got the more it seemed as though the only way I could get through the chatter of everyday living was by going on holidays with her. We'd done our first big Europe trip together; and now, in the fall of 2019, we were in New York.

I remember sitting on the beach all those months ago, learning about my roommate's faint familial connections to the Konbaung dynasty and Burma's last monarch, and not quite believing it; now here we were in front of the original Royal Lion Throne itself.
