Danang is the laidback charm of a city dreaming along the seashore.
It’s the seafood feast outdoors, fresh catch hauled in just across the road.
It’s coffee in the secret little courtyard of Six on Six with the murmur of a pond underneath the trees.
It’s the marocchino at that Piedmontese outpost called Torino Bakery and the burrata pizzas at Luna Pub and Pizza 4Ps.
It’s a salted-egg croissant and iced Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk on a sunny morning along Bach Dang by the river.
It’s an elegant, finely balanced cocktail with hints of citrus and soba by the Japanese bartender at that rooftop bar.
It’s Sunday brunch in the pretty ~aesthetics~ of Jeremy’s Kitchen and Urban Square.
It’s bun cha and grilled pork and spring rolls and mi quang in a myriad cheery well-lit places with the low stools outside.
It’s milk tea on every corner – brown sugar and cheese foam, hold the ice, please.
It’s making your own Vietnamese drip coffee on weekends.
It’s a fresh baguette, with Camembert and honey.
It’s banana-flavoured milk and ice cream for breakfast at work.
It’s a motorbike drive down the coast awash in the fading golden light of sunset, to souvlaki and chips and endless conversations on the beach till moonrise.
And it’s warm laughter and a couple of beers on a dark mountain overlooking the city lights glittering by the bay.
